What Ian doesn’t know about The Beatles locations is not worth knowing! I have been on a few Beatles tours in Liverpool and his was the best by far, with a thoroughly knowledgeable tour guide – Thanks Ian

“If you are a true Beatles fan like us, you want the most initiated, the best Beatlesguide you can find. And we found him in Liverpool – Ian Doyle”

Eva Flyborg, Chairman Swedish Parliament Beatles Society

A Beatle fan since the early days I have been to Liverpool several times doing different Beatle tours. No one can match the expertise and knowledge of Ian when it comes to the fab four, the music, the places and the stories. Add to that a very friendly and humorous escort and you have the best Beatle guide there is to be found in Liverpool town! Be sure to ask him bout his guitars and you will learn a lot on Beatle gear!

Tripadvisor Reviews

Our tour guide Ian was very friendly and he assured my wife and I that he would make our Beatle’s trip one that would last a life time. Ian succeeded in doing that. He is a walking encyclopaedia of anything associated with the Beatles. His cab, Dear Prudence was clean and very comfortable the entire tour. A seasoned professional, Ian knew how to visit the sites throughout Liverpool without his patrons having to deal with busloads of tourists at the attractions. All the pictures and video we took on the tour did not have other people in them. The music played during the tour was very relaxing. The conversations he provided about each Beatle, their boyhood homes and other sites were very informative. He carries a scrapbook filled with assorted Beatle related photographs that makes the tour even more interesting. We were not rushed at any of the places we visited. The information he provided us was beyond of what we ever expected. This was truly an unforgettable tour

We had a wonderful time visiting Beatles’ sites in Ian’s cab Dear Prudence.  He was simply a goldmine of information, and we learned all sorts of fascinating trivia.

Ian’s puppy Archie snoozed throughout the journey- no reflection on the trip! – But added a note of cuteness.

Whether you are a rabid Beatle Maniac or have only a casual interest, you are certain to enjoy this experience!

What a wonderful 2 hrs we spent, in a comfortable cab, name of ‘Dear Prudence’ with Ian, perhaps the most passionate Beatles Tour guide ever found! His amiability, knowledge, good humour and dialogue made the tour extra special. I thought I was a big Beatles fan, but he knows the inside story not just about the Beatles, but their associates, the City, and the stories behind the stories. You won’t regret booking.

This tour was part of my 60th birthday celebration (a cruise that included 2 days in Liverpool) and it exceeded all my expectations. My husband and I are both Beatle nerds and there isn’t much we don’t know, but our fantastic guide Ian managed to surprise us with all sorts previously unknown info. There is nothing about the Beatles this man doesn’t know! We spent all the time we needed to explore each site and were never rushed at all. His thick binder full of rare photos really added to the experience.  If you’re a serious Beatle fan you must take this tour with Ian and his cab Dear Prudence to guide you!

Absolutely brilliant tour with Ian and the Dear Prudence Cab, my Husband is a big Beatles Fan and was over the moon with the tour. We were taken to all the sights and Ian had an immense amount of knowledge and information to share. The best were the personal information he had and that he could answer any question my Husband asked him! We would thoroughly recommend this tour for Beatles Fans and non-Fans alike much more personal than on a coach!

Went on my tour with Ian in his cab Dear Prudence, and it was amazing! He first asked me who my favourite Beatle was and then proceeded to carry out the tour making sure to put some emphasis on him! 🙂 I was lucky enough to have a one on one tour and Ian made it a complete pleasure! I would recommend this tour to anyone! It’s so informative and all my questions were answered with in depth detail! Thanks again for the great day!

This was my second trip to Liverpool and my second tour with Ian Doyle.  Ian is a great guy – his knowledge of Beatles history (and Liverpool history) is encyclopaedic and he shows you sites that others might miss.  This is well worth the money for any music fan – you’re not cooped up in a bus nor do you have National Trust guides hovering over you. When Ian dropped us off at the hotel, he said “Next time we’ll take a drive out to Speke.”

Any trip to London should include the two hour train ride to Liverpool; any trip to Liverpool has to include a Beatles Taxi Tour with Ian.  This was an experience that I will remember for a lifetime.

My husband’s lifelong dream was to visit Liverpool.  We have just finished a 5 hour tour with Ian and Dear Prudence and his dream has been fulfilled.  Ian was fantastic and answered any questions that we had and shared his wonderful knowledge on the Beatles.  We now have a much better understanding of the meaning of their songs and their early lives.  We will be recommending this tour to other friends coming to Liverpool in the future.  It is great to have the personal touch of a small tour.

We took the tour in Ian Doyle’s taxi which is called ‘Dear Prudence’. Ian proved to be a fantastic host. His knowledge of the Beatles history and heritage is amazing and although we knew a fair amount already, he told us many things that we didn’t know. We went to all of the houses that the Fab 4 lived in when they were growing up; saw the Church hall where they first met and practised, and the Church where Paul was in the choir. Eleanor Rigby’s grave is right there in the Churchyard. Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields were also visited. An amazing tour and Ian was so hospitable. He took photos of us at every location and we did not feel rushed. The total duration was just over 3 hours and it is great value although we gave Ian a generous tip which he richly deserved. This is so much better than a bus tour as you can get out at every location and really see the history at close hand
