My name is Ian Doyle – a Beatles taxi tour guide with over 16 years experience of sharing my extensive and passionate knowledge of the life and times of The Beatles.
My love of the band developed in 1980 following the death of John Lennon for whom I have a particular affection. Their music and story inspired me as a teenager to pick up the guitar and I have built an extensive collection of Beatles inspired memorabilia, including replicas of all the guitars owned by John, Paul and George from their teenage years through to those used on The Rooftop Appearance.
I have developed my knowledge of their early and later lives through my study of the many books available and I have a personal collection of around 300 books.
I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to play guitar on stage at The Casbah Coffee Club with another legend of the same musical era – Billy Kinsley Bass guitarist and singer of The Merseybeats and a close personal friend of The Beatles. I was also able to meet Pete Best the original drummer for The Beatles.
I have worked with BBC Radio Merseyside, ITV Granada Reports and The Mark Berman Radio Show in Atlantic City USA providing expert information and insight into the story of The Beatles.
